Sunday, October 12 was a beautiful day for the 6th Annual Harpoon Road Race. Over 480 runners participated (up from 220 the previous year), with over $7500 in proceeds coming to Norris Cotton Cancer Center. In addition The Friends Team fielded a team of nine runners who together raised more then $1900 for the cause, bringing the total raised through this event to almost $9,500!
Spirits were high as runners completed the hilly 3.6 mile course and joined in the Octoberfest celebration already in progress. Activities like the chocolate cake eating contest, costume competition, chicken dancing and face painting were enjoyed by individuals and families alike. Attendees were thrilled to know that the net proceeds from their admission were going to cancer research and patient services.
Thank yous go to Harpoon, all runners and Octoberfest attendees, and especially to our Friends Team for supporting Norris Cotton Cancer Center!
