The Prouty

Twenty-seven years ago, four cancer center nurses rode 100 miles through the White Mountains of New Hampshire and raised $4000 for research at Dartmouth's Norris Cotton Cancer Center. They rode in honor of the courage of their patient, Audrey Prouty. Patty Carney, one of the original nurses, says "It was the sight of Audrey facing her cancer everyday that inspired us to challenge ourselves with a 100 mile ride."

The Prouty is the signature event of the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center. Over the 25 years of this event, more than $4.5 million dollars has been raised. This money funds world-class research, state-of-the-art equipment, critical education programs and innovative clinical trials that help save lives of cancer patients all over the world.

The Prouty 2008

Last year, The Prouty raised a record-breaking $1,750,000. This year our goal is $2,000,000. If you've ever done The Prouty, or never done The Prouty, join us this year! Help us reach our goal of $2,000,000 for cancer research and patient services at Dartmouth's Norris Cotton Cancer Center! Grab a friend, start a team, or go solo. No matter how you participate, know you'll have the time of your life as you bicycle 100, 50 or 25 miles up the beautiful Connecticut River Valley or walk 5, 10, 15, or 20k on wooded trails or through scenic Hanover, New Hampshire.
